When we are thinking carbon bikes at Get a Grip, Parlee is the first choice that comes to our minds. Parlee does carbon and nothing but carbon. We like the attention to perfection in a single material and by far the best value in Parlee’s line up is the Z5. The frames are very light, 875 to 975 grams (with no rider weight limit or reduced warranties!). The folks at Parlee wanted a bike that handled and felt like the top end Z1 but at a much lower cost, and with a faster turnaround time. The Z5 does exactly this.
The ENVE 2.0 is the fork of choice for this bike and is carbon from dropout to steerer. Enve Composites is the fabricator of all the proprietary tubing used in the hand built Parlee frames. The main triangle is constructed in a molded fashion (faster, easier production so the price can come down). The headtube has a 1 to 1-1/4 inch tapered head tube and matching steerer. There are no gimmicky tubing shapes. Note the direct, round, straight pipes. The Z5 also uses a BB30 bottom bracket to help lighten the bike while adding stiffness.
The complete bike packages are available with Shimano Ultegra 6700 starting at $5500 or SRAM Force starting at $5600. A Campy Chorus equipped bike is $6500. You can choose crank length and bolt pattern (Standard 53/39 chain rings or Compact 50/34), handlebar width, stem length, and seat post setback to customize your fit and riding style. Another great thing about this frame is Parlee’s Flex Fit geometry with standard and tall head tube lengths. This helps bring in twelve, yes twelve different sizes. As fitting professionals, we love this. 9.9 times out of 10, there will be a Z5 that we can set up perfectly for you.

The build kit is rounded out with a Selle Italia SL saddle, Mavic Ksyrium Elite wheels, and Michelin Pro Race 3 tires. To these base prices, you can upgrade finish, component, and wheel spec as well. Just let us know what you are looking for and we can get you the build you want.
Book a fitting for a Z5 with us, and we will dial this bike in to perfection for you! If you can’t make it to the studio for a fitting, please give us a call. We would be happy to go over all the options, build your Parlee, and send it out to you. |
